Avvio Networks’ AM2545 Ethernet switch is an optical edge device that can be used as an 8-port 10/100 base-T Ethernet switch or it can be used to aggregate the Ethernet interfaces into a 1Gb Ethernet interface. The AM2545 is designed for use in Avvio Networks’ AM2050 and AM2500 Chassis.
The AM2545 features wire-speed performance on all ports and jumbo frame support, VLAN tagging on a per-port basis. It also supports Q-in-Q (VMAN or double) tagging. VMAN tags can be added on ingress to the AM2545 and stripped on egress from the AM2545.
The AM2545 also provides non-intrusive RMON and SNMP monitoring and can be configured to trigger alarms based on a number of error conditions.
Multiple AM2545s can be “stacked” together in an AM2500 chassis to form a larger Ethernet switch in a single chassis.
The Gigabit port utilizes user-accessible SFP transceivers available from Avvio Networks. The SFPs provide per-port interface flexibility and are available at 850nm, 1310nm, CDWM and DWDM wavelengths.
The AM2545 is managed via the AM2502 controller card, with SNMP, console and Telnet interfaces.
