See the AM4025 Data Sheet

The AM4025 is a reconfigurable optical add drop multiplexer (ROADM) with 8 optical add/drop ports allowing WDM devices to be coupled onto or off of a fiber ring or mesh without disturbing other devices on the network.

The AM4025 works with all Avvio Networks products or any ITU-compliant optical device to allow multiple WDM channel operation over a single fiber.

The AM4025 offers SNMP, Telnet, and console management of the ports via the AM2502 controller card, an integrated VOA, and power monitors on the Common and add ports. It also offers settable alarm thresholds on each port, along with automatic signal leveling on the add ports.

The AM4025 offers both warning and failure alarms.

The AM4025 is available in 2 versions, edge and core. The edge version is primarily used at the edge of a network to connect to equipment such as a router, SONET ADM, or regenerator.

The core version is used where multiple wavelengths are dropped and or added per client channel. These devices are used in a mesh network or when connecting networks from multiple carriers (such as a tandem connection), or when adding optical redundancy in a network.

The AM4025 can be used with Avvio Networks’ AM403X series of optical amplifiers for a complete optical networking system. The AM4025 is also supported by Avvio Networks’ Element Management System (EMS), a GUI based network management tool.
