Avvio Networks’ AM2550 repeater is an optical regenerator/repeater for OC-48 SONET, STM-16 SDH, Fiber Channel, or 1Gb Ethernet data streams at 1310nm, 1550nm, or DWDM wavelengths. It can also be used to convert 1310nm or 1550nm (wavelength shift) optical data to a DWDM wavelength on an ITU channel.
For OC-48 applications, the AM2550 can be configured as a SONET regenerator. It can also be configured as a physical layer repeater, passing data through untouched, i.e., without SONET Section termination. Client Side access is from a user-accessible XFP.
The AM2550 can add and strip an OTU-1 header from any supported protocolS
It provides performance monitoring via the AM2502 Controller module. The AM2502 provides SNMP support, a craft port for management over a serial link and Telnet for remote management using Avvio Networks’ command line interface.
The AM2550 is a single-width card for use in the A2050 or A2500 chassis.
