Avvio Networks’ AM2552 is a four port protocol independent optical edge device with user-accessible SFPs supporting 850nm, 1310nm, 1550nm, or C/DWDM optical interfaces. The AM2552 is used to repeat and wavelength shift data streams from 100Mb/s to 4.3Gb/s.
The AM2552’s protocol independent architecture enables service providers to natively support any protocol including SONET, SDH, Gigabit Ethernet, InfiniBand, ATM, and TDM traffic at any rate from 100Mb/s to 4.3Gb/s. It operates independently of the incoming bit rate.
The AM2552 has an internal switch with any-in-to-any-out functionality, allowing the AM2552 to be configured to support APS, broadcast, and to connect the two tunable ports together.
The AM2552 can be used to provide diverse route protection.
The AM2552 and its SFPs are hot swappable. The tunable ports are tunable across the entire “C” band. SFPs for specific protocols and reach as well as multi-rate are available.
The two tunable ports are fully tunable across the entire C band. They are available with 50 and 100 Ghz spacing, and are independently tunable; they can be tuned to two separate channels.
